The number of fully electric vehicles is increasing on UK roads as more drivers move away from traditional petrol and diesel cars. If you use an electric vehicle why not consider taking advantage of the government grant available for an EV charge point, which will significantly reduce installation costs. Although there are EV charging points in public locations, with an EV charging point at your home in a garage or driveway you will have hassle free charging.
What Is The OLEV Grant?
The Office For Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) is a government department that supports the growth of electric vehicles in the UK. To increase electric vehicle charging infrastructure throughout Britain, OLEV has introduced a grant to help reduce the installation costs of EV charging points. The grant is available to electric vehicle owners and leaseholders, businesses and public sector local authorities. The grant is divided into 3 schemes, which have been operating since March 2016.
- Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme
- Workplace Charge Point Scheme
- On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme
